Bar Spoons Built for Stirring Cocktails at Home

This collection offers several bar spoon styles to suit different bartending needs.

  • The classic teardrop end lets you stir for extended periods without fatigue, making it ideal for high-volume settings like parties where you're mixing drinks back-to-back.
  • The flat end is great for muddling herbs or fruit to release their essential oils and flavors, especially when making a Mojito.
  • The fork end allows you to pick up garnishes like cherries, olives, or citrus twists effortlessly, keeping your workflow efficient without switching tools.

All spoons feature a spiral handle; it's the key to achieving smooth, even stirring with effortless control. Each one is also carefully balanced for a comfortable, natural feel in your hand.

Made from 304 (18/8) stainless steel, these bar spoons are built to last. They're resistant to bending and warping, holding up well under daily heavy use, and cleanup is as simple as a quick rinse. Beyond performance, a selection of gold-finish options is available to add a touch of luxury to your bar setup. Whether you're just getting into mixology or you're already a seasoned home bartender, these spoons are an essential tool for unlocking the deep, complex flavors of classic cocktails.

Why do bar spoons have a twisted handle?

The twisted (or spiraled) handle provides extra grip and slip resistance, making it easier to control the spoon for smooth, rhythmic stirring. It’s a signature feature of the bar spoon.

What else can a bar spoon do besides stirring?

A bar spoon is a multi‑purpose tool. Besides stirring, it can also be used for:

  • Measuring – A standard bar spoon holds about 1 teaspoon (5 ml), handy for adding small amounts of syrup or spirits.
  • Pouring / guiding – The spiral handle helps slow down the pour when you drizzle a liquid along it, giving you better flow control and reducing splashing.
  • Layering – Slowly pouring a lower‑density liquid over the back of the spoon onto a higher‑density liquid creates layered drinks.
  • Muddling – Without a muddler, the back of the spoon can temporarily crush sugar cubes or herb leaves.
Can I use a regular spoon instead of a bar spoon?

You can in a pinch, but it’s not a full substitute. Regular spoons usually don’t have enough length, a balanced weight, or a practical twisted handle. This makes them less effective than a proper bar spoon for cocktail making.

Why are bar spoons so long?

The longer length is designed to reach the bottom of tall or deep vessels like mixing glasses, highball glasses, and shaker tins. A long handle lets you stir comfortably with your hand away from the rim of the vessel, making the motion more natural.

How do you properly stir a cocktail with a bar spoon?
  • Pour the base spirits and other liquid ingredients into a mixing glass.
  • Add the right amount of ice.
  • Insert the back of the spoon along the inside wall of the glass.
  • Stir continuously in one direction along the wall for about 30 seconds.
  • After stirring, use a strainer to pour the drink into a serving glass.
Are your bar spoons easy to break?

Our bar spoons are made from 304 (18/8) stainless steel using a one‑piece construction. The thickness and hardness are optimized to meet the needs of everyday home bartending – they won’t easily bend or break. That said, don’t use them to pry open bottle caps or as a lever; that’s not what they’re designed for.
